Cant say I'm too unhappy to see this week fall by and drop off the into the past. But then I have a break from work from the 29th of this month, so I'll be ushering next week by aswell.

I'll be staying with my girlfriend Kim in Sevenoaks for a week, it will nice to just get away from everything for a little while.

Appearance.

There has been some talk in the office recently regarding personal appearance. Specifically that of hair length, facial hair and showing tattoo's. We've had a few chats about this in the despatch department between ourselves about how we feel about the possibility of enforced appearance rules and generally it would go down like cheesecake at a slim-fast meeting.

Its not that I don't want to look "acceptable", but the way I dress and present myself has been accepted since I first joined the company 10 years ago, I believe it would be pretty slack timing to start enforcing those rules now on me now. I read a BBC article about a young lady who was very tattoo'd about the chest and arm area, on her first day of work (in an office, with no customer contact), she was told that she looked unprofessional. So, even if her work in the job was impeccable, her timekeeping was superb and her inter-work relationships were all good, the tone of her skin was enough to rear up her managers prejudices in her and cause her to leave that job.

Anyway, I'll clamber off this high horse now, bed time soon...... just enough time to power up an A10C before I do :)

Not been here in a while, but not given up on it either.

Having recently read my companies blurb on using social media, I shall introduce myself as Simon, I'm a dispatcher for UPS, working in our Tamworth Hub in the UK. I've been am employee with the company now for 10 years, I enjoy my job and get on with pretty much everyone I work with. I must state tho, as disclaimer that my thoughts or opinions aren't necessarily those of UPS or my colleagues / management & Ill find of way of getting this info onto the page permanently.

I do sometimes have quite spiky thoughts and feelings about things at work but I usually vent them while im there, but the above disclaimer is very important in case any of that leaks onto here, which some of it may, possibly :)

I also dabble a little with poetry & I primarily, while not at work or sleeping am gaming.

That's it for now, Ill try and keep this regular cus, regular is healthy ;-)

Got out of work early today...... which is rather nice........ Also, this Saturday will be the '08 Star Wars Marathon, with 3rd Year vets, Me 'N Barnsey and this years newcomers Swin and some bird that helps in the music room at Swins work.

There will be light sabres, pizza, beer, Yoda, Bobby Davro, WKD and possibly a shrubbery or two.

So, been a while since I last blogged......... or is it Blogged? Whatever, Ive said that a few times :)

The bit about it being a while since I last blogged I mean, Ive said whatever a bit more, but then I guess whatever is to a blog what Debbie Gibson is to parrot shoes.

I am now working at a relocated version of work, doing crazy long shifts, but they start in the daytime and end in, well virtually the daytime. I work in an office, on a computer system, and make all sorts of pasties fly :)

So, a respective ALOHA to all the duckies I work with, you know who you are, if ineed you are reading this, which you may not be, so whatever............. oow, i said it again :)

WoW is going ok, jus pooterin about on there at the moment, tho its always cool loggin on and chattin to the man known as Andarial and ofcourse all the other partridge sniffers. Also, to my delight, Andar is now an X-Boxian, and is helping the withdrawl symptoms of my Crackdown addiction by partaking in the blessed game in co-op goodness :)

Hmm, what shall I do with all this time I have.......... hmm, I know, sleep........... Im back at work in 8 hours.

Im back playing World of Warcraft again, after my 2 month break, althought if felt like alot longer than 2 months. Im rather happy that it felt like it took a while, time seems to pass so quickly now, its nice once in a while for things to pace down a gear or two. As anyone reading this may have noticed, since getting my Xbox back and starting up WoW again, my blogging has been lacking somewhat. Bah!!!!, I was only blogging cus I had nothing better to do :-P.

Well, its back, my Xbox is back with me in all of its non ring of death glory.......... yay!! So, I'm happy now. I can play The Darkness which is awesome and fun & am enjoying playing Forza again :)

I have just learned that my Xbox is now being shipped back to me, I am filled with joy and excitement, its like a month long period of boredom torture is finally going to end...... I may even do a little dance!!! I'm still not overly impressed with the duration of the repair but that was mainly due to not having my Xbox, so hearing I'm gettin it back makes me happy :)

Well, Friday Night / Saturday Morning's shift at work was......... pretty damn terrible to say the least. What to blame....... the rain, the monsoon like conditions that are plaguing us at the moment. Whilst there isn't a whole load of flooding in my town (apart from the odd river like puddle), my place of work depends heavily on the reliability of the road / motorway network, which was largely closed off due to significant lathering of descended water. In some respects, things were a little easier, due to elements of our work being unavailable, however I despair at the idea of spending a night out in the elements, being pelted by water that's bouncing up at me from the ground. Oh, still no Xbox aswell, so my pleasure of being dry again faded quite quickly but a little excitement was building............... as we had seats booked to see Transformers on Saturday night, I used to love the cartoon as a young boy and playing with the toys helped me build a fascination in gadgets, specially ones with cool moving parts :)

So, Saturday arrives & I've acquired a blocked nose and sore throat, so somewhere along the line, a cold or similar virus has crept into my system and gone straight for the throat, quite literally. I am currently pelting it with a barrage of Vitamin C, a dribble of caffeine and a little Paracetamol to ease the unpleasantness, although the Vitamin C usually seals the deal quite rapidly. The day passes by quite quickly, well I did wake up at 15:00, had some food at 17:00ish, and my darling Stu came joined me for a little Stargate before we headed cinema-ward. SO, 3 hours later 20:00 hit the clock and we hit the mean streets of dullsville for the cinema and Trans"Awsome"Formers :) The experience was a little ruined for me due to feeling a bit mankey, but I very much enjoyed the film and am looking forward to getting hold of the DVD to tear apart. I generally prefer films on DVD, as I enjoy watching parts over and over again & taking in some of the finer detail in some films that largely passes by on the screen quite rapidly, so this will be much more of a treat for me on DVD.......... However, it was an awesome film, plenty of Robot vs Robot action, evil Xbox 360's (like mine), crazy fast action and a decent story. Its the summer blockbuster it intended to be, nothing too deep, you don't have to leave your brain outside, but you also dont need to have Wikipedia, a Calculator, a pair a pliars & a photograph of a parsnip handy to enjoy the film. An extractor fan and a can of powerful air freshener would have been appropriate during the ride to and from the cinema in my mate Stu's car though as the previous nights beer had turned his body into a producer of evil smells.

This leads me to now, Ive spent the past few days literally surfing from video to related video on Youtube and Spikedhumor, watching funny, freaky, informative and down right scary stuff...... but all rather entertaining :)

Crackdown, Repair My Soul!!

I so need a Crackdown fix right now, well I usually need one every 2/3 days at least, its currently been 3 weeks of no Xbox............. well infact, its been over that as my initial contact for Xbox support was made through email. The reply to this email was received about a week later, which by that time I'd already called and sent my Xbox off, but the reply funnily just told me that the error that I'd identified in my initial correspondence as being the "Fatal Hardware Error" was infact, the "Fatal Hardware Error" & that I should contact Xbox support via the contact number at the bottom of the email. So, a complete waste of time and a warning to all that its much faster to get things going by calling them. Ofcourse there's nothing thats going to get your Xbox back within 5 weeks, except maybe rewinding the clock about 2 years and convincing Microsoft to put some substantial funding into R&D. Or even a redesign to address the unfortunate positioning of the GPU, release it with some catchy name to show off that its cooler like The Xbox 360 Ice and exchange Ring of Death Xbox's with the redesigned version. Or something to rectify this customer relations nightmare, the extended warranty is a start, but the repair time is definitely an end at the moment.

I'm getting very tired of waiting to play my Xbox, I'm fearful that when it finally returns from whichever eastern European country its been sent to, that the repair will alter the hardware back to the state at which I purchased it, from which it will probably last another 6 months before it breaks again & I'll be without it for a further 5 weeks. Its like being able see the future and knowing its going to be complete shit.

Done get me wrong, I love all that the Xbox is, except its hardware.

This makes for very interesting reading, how one Xbox 360 customer (Fatfish) has taken the reigns and tackled Microsoft head on regarding the Xbox 360 support & its ever excessive repair times. It does appear that currently, there is no real resolution, only an admittance from a Microsoft rep that things arent really acceptable and........... well that's about it. So, you know its not good enough, but if you write a big letter, and complain to enough people, you may finally be put through to somebody who will tell you that its not good enough........... not really progress unfortunately.

Both sites give more of an insight into the huge problem that is the "Ring of Death". As much as I love my Xbox 360, I wish I'd have known about all this when I was buying..............

25days - 13days = 12days Until I Get my Xbox Back!!

So, I've jus phoned the Xbox 360 support line, repair reference number at the ready to check on the status of my Xbox's repair. When I made my initial call, the lady at the support centre told me the maximum time the 360 would be in repair for was 20 days, so I kinda figured that there was a shorter general repair time, but worst case scenario was 20 days. But alas, I've just phoned the support line & after an automated message regarding the new 3 year warranty for the "Ring of Death" and the refunds for such. Following this was another recorded message talking about the repair times, which stated that the current repair time for 360's is 25 days but they are working to reduce that to 15 days for the end of July............ oh joy oh joy!! Oh well, at least now I know I can expect to wait a further 12 working days, over 2 damn weeks more.

When it initially broke, I wasn't distraught, or immensely pissed off or anything, I was more bothered with the idea of it being a hassle to send it back and sort it all out with packaging and arranging a pickup etc. However, all of this seemed to work out well and it seemed to happen pretty quickly once the phone call had been made to the support line and the Xbox had been placed in a decent box with some cushioning. Bot now, its been away from me for nearly 3 weeks now and I'm really missing it, I have new games & found out new things I want to try in Crackdown which I've played to death already and wish to continue playing it to death.

Come back Mr Xbox, I miss you!!!!

Im rather pleased with how this whole Blogcentre is coming along, I always found it awkward going from place to place trying to keep some perspective on where each blog was at....... and even then which do I choose to tell people about, so I thought "ahh, sod it!!", I'll keep them and put them all in one nice tidy, shiny place. I don't feel as bad right now as I did this time yesterday & I felt alot better last night as well. Here's hoping it was a brief bug that's parted ways with me :)

During last night at work, I developed very achy legs and put it down to the fact I've been off for two weeks, but waking up today I was still incredibly tired & my legs still ache now. This is normally the sure fire sign to me that I'm becoming ill. Hopefully a regime of flue tablets, Vitamin C and warmth can help me beat it. I have to say that I'm also feeling rather light headed, kinda feel like going back to bed again but that will just be a waste of a perfectly good day, just wish I had my X-Box back................. tut!!

I was happy enough to meet a friend from WoW on MSN earlier, we had a long chat, I explained how I came to quit as it was never something I fully explained to many people.

Initially the game was addictive, I didn't really have much time for community as it got in the way of killing stuff for money and experience points. Then I joined a guild of good people, saw people come and go, some I couldn't have cared less about and some people but there were people that I "linked" with. So I go from a member of the guild to an officer and stick my neck out and shout a bit (as I do), there are several major shifts in guild members, mainly outward, followed by hefty and non picky recruitment drives. Member movements also cater for power shifts and my voice as an officer of the guild starts to be heard. An unfortunate set of events lead to my taking leadership of the guild and things were pretty good for a time. Twisted Souls wasn't a peaceful place and there was always a core of unrest, but usually this was fairly easy to fix............ however, once the expansion was released, cracks started to appear. Leadership was once again passed on and unrest grew further. The walls fell and many fled the guild. Leadership was briefly passed back to me, I got rid of Twisted Souls and created a guild called Sanctuary for just the close friends that were left of TS................. but alas the wounds had already been opened, for many. I left Warcraft after deleting all of my characters and passing all money to my girlfriend.

Thats my life in WoW in a nutshell, it all sounds quite miserable, but there were alot of fantastic times woven into that aswell.

But times change, I just want to see to it that some contact is reclaimed and friendships rekindled.

It is with great sorrow, that I must announce that, my Xbox 360 has gone the way of the Dodo, its has croaked, its fallen on its back, stuck its feet in the air and let out one final dyeing fart. Infact the biggest irony is that it works just enough to know that it doesn't work & tell me that in a red flashing manner.

I booked a holiday and half way through the week leading up to the holiday, the Xbox decided it didn't want to join me :(. So, the representative repair centre has it and its currently being nurtured and resuscitated back to life by a specialist team of console medics. So my 2 weeks was spent playing Lord of the Rings Online and watchin telly and watching retro cartoons. For the 2nd week of my hols, my lovely girlfriend came to stay with me, which was nice and saved on the phone use a little. Ive also bought a 32" Hi Def telly for my 360, which makes it look rather nice.......... as you may imagine.

So, my holiday is up, im working my way back into nights again and am attempting to stay up for a large portion of the night, otherwise ill miss out on my last day of holiday.

And, once again im back to blogging, see how long it lasts this time..........

I have recently quit World of Warcraft, not that it was a bad game, infact while it was good....... it was very very good. But I guess its one of those things where, once you've seen all the pretty and all the "blimey thats impressive", you're left with loads of "yeah yeah, seen it before". I've played WoW for just over 2 years, and while never delving into the world or mass raiding, I still think I did pretty well for myself.

I recently purchased Gothes Faust Parts I & II to read through, and im rather looking forward to it, an entire book of poetry thats also a play :) Which incidentally inspired the Epica & Black Halo albums from Kamelot. Good euro rock music, literature......... all I'll need is some nice red wine and bagels & I may aswell go live on the continent.

Incase nobody has ever read this ever, this is an update, the last it was updated was an eternity ago, the update itself was probably not so special, but nevermind :)

So, I think I'd got as far as waking up and eating crumpets, been playing WoW for a little while and watching a little Big Brudder.

To follow on from training my trainee cover at work, he's doing pretty well, as well as can be expected for someone with 2 weeks training at the job...... I left him to it on Friday, it initially went a bit shakey, but within the panic, my advice and his mind kicked in, he had to work it out for himself as I was no longer there to answer all his questions. I was grimacing initially, wanted to jump in and fix it all, but he needed to learn that for himself, and by the middle to end of the night I was grinning from ear to ear, cus he came through.

Holiday for a week now, jus chillin and not much else, maybe a trip to the cinema, trip to the pub tonight for a few, or few too many drinks.

Im just building things up slowly, well ramping them up a little more tonight by handing him the radio, but he doesnt seem overly bothered by the thought of that.

Training Day...................Take 2

So the chap I was supposed to train was like, with me in the yard last night, no doubt somewhat daunted and possibly a little overwhelmed at the chaos that is my job :) He now has 9 days to learn my job, though I'm working him in slowly, last night was purely him observing me working and I explained a few things, though in very little detail. I am also a fair bit daunted, 9 days left to have hi proficient at working the radio, doing the paperwork and organising the team and everyone else............ but, in 9 days time I shall be on my holiday. So as long as I put in the work now and do my best to train Dean as best I can, fingers crossed it will all go ok.

Also been watching Big Brother, quite a mix of characters in there, one person in particular that stands out is Shahbaz, he comes across as being somewhat of a monster. I almost feel sorry for the guy, he seems very messed up, if society is responsible for that then maybe there is a little bit of that monster in all of us. But I somehow feel he is overcompensating for the preceived prejudices he beleives are aimed at him, acting like the world has made his life some great trajedy and he has to act out every scene, every single day. Or he is possibly acting up for the camera, doing his best to inflate the drama, but instead he is just alienateing himself. I also noticed Pete shealding Shahbaz from the outbursts of others at his actions, maybe Pete feels some connection, through experiences of prejudice. But, from what I see, Pete and Shahbaz are worlds apart. Pete has completely confronted his Tourette's Syndrome and welcomes it as part of the creative process that is his life, taking on a level of self honesty that most people would shy away from, and from what I've observed, most people really like him for it, there is nothing quite like really getting to know someone. Shahbaz on the otherhand appears to be acting the part, the part of someone that is constantly taking hits for his colour and sexuality, only he isnt, infact the group in the house seem very accepting and he's giving them reasons to push him away.

So Ive missed probably, most of the weekend, doing mainly gaming and drinking too much caffine, and probably not eating or sleeping properly............... but thats what weekends are all about :)

Played WoW , nowt new there, and am currently writing this blog when I really should be getting ready to go to bed, or I'll wake up feeling like crap.

Bought a new mouse and mousemat, the Razer Copperhead 2000dpi laser mouse and a precision mousemat :)

So I went to sleep yesterday mornin, woke up, had dinner and went to work, didnt get my cover person to train again, but I didnt expect any different.

Popped on WoW when I dot home from work, helped a fellow guild friend out for a bit then tried to farm some herbs, got too tired and headed to bed :)

Am awake now, woke to Bacon butties with some (not to be very HP anymore) HP sauce. Gonna pop to the shop shortly and am eyeing up a new mouse............. the Razer Copperhead, its similar to my current Diamondback, only its lazer driven instead of IR. The internet may go cha-ching b4 the night it out :)

Jus sittin here with Holy Man on, working trowards going to the shop, mighty tempted to buy 10 ten deck of ciggies, I shall try to resist the urge.

Watched the opening show for Big Brother, interesting mix of housemates, I can see battles happening quite soon.

Found out who my holiday cover is at work, dont know the guy, but I do know that he doesnt know alot about the happenings outside of the building............... so his 2 weeks training are going to be intense!!!!!

Oh, and my MoodBeam is hearbeating at me awwwww :) Hope my sweets arrive today from A Quater Of, they sell sweets by the 1/4Kg for pretty cheap prices, so I have some chewy sweeties on the way to me.

Is just sittin there on my monitor smiling and chaning colours, he's very cool and good value for money at just over a tenner with delivery. Quite mezmerising to look at aswell, sittin here with touring car racing on, typing this and watching the little guy change colours. Jus finished off a bag of Skittles that I grabbed at work before I left, all of the major problems didnt seem to have anthing to do with me, so thats pretty good.

Going to have to train someone to do my job soon, so I can take a holiday. I have no idea who's been selected, but I know that the person selcted has no idea what my job is about. I fear the worst, but thats nothing new with me............... Bottom line is, my holiday is imminent and if they dont know my job by the time im off............. tough!!!!

Might grab a bite to eat in a min, need to add some info / comments on my guilds board and news blog, then pop into the game for a little while :)

Well almost, I awoke to today feeling refreshed and empty of caffine. So I shall eat some food in a little while, have a nice cleasning shower & realax for an hour...................... then its off to work. First thing I'll do when I get there is grab a coffee, and get ready for the chaos and mayhem to ensue.

Jus sittin here, with my Skype headset on, talking to my girlfriend who's currently logged into WoW & listening to Tools 10,000 Days.

I have been working on the website of the guild im in, taken the standard page away and moved the focus to the blog/news page. Have decided to make the front page something that people will be interested in, if its about them then they should be.

....................All that caffeine has worn off and I can sleep a sleepy one. Otherwise I aren't appy, and I'll be grumpy like a trout for work tonight :(

Had a good night on WoW, 10 person raid to Upper Blackrock Spire and then a 5 person trip to a nice friendly place called Stratholme. All in all, it were super duper cracking gret.

I am intending on really giving this blog a go this time, I've had a go a few times and its always fallen back down and the habit has worn off. So I shall endeavor to go again, so many future generations can read that............... I played WoW, consumed lethal doses of caffeine and slept (not very well either).

Work is getting a little testing, pressure is mounting on everyone, we're all working our asses off and sadly, its not enough. But, not to be too specific, we are in the throws of fighting a losing battle, not that our goals cant be achieved cus I think they still can be, but its getting to the point where we're trying to squeeze a Jumbo Jet into a garden shed, metaphorically speaking ofcourse :).

Woke up tired, uncomfortable and jus a little bit too hot today. I suppose thats one of the problems with working nights, you end up having the sun warm your sleep, maybe just a little too much.

A few weeks ago I have rather bad Hayfever, though it does seem to have eased off a little now :)

Bought two Nine Inch Nails albums......With Teeth and Downward Spiral :)

I have never really been into them before, but what I've heard is cool.

I havnt listened to either of them enough to give them a review.....however I do think they are very good.

I am bored of music that I would consider "stock".....as in music that always follows the same patterns. I need something that's a bit more varied & NIN are certainly that!!

My favourite song so far is Everyday Is Exactly The Same on the With Teeth album.

I am mostly into Tool and Metallica, though I do like bands who record material. This is not to insult either of the above bands, but they dont exactly put out much material on any kind of regular basis. So...... I had to wander a little to find a band who is realeasing & to my luck, there were these two albums, both of which have been released quite recently :)

I may review these albums, when my ears are a little more tuned into the NIN sound, but until then, I shall just be listening!!

Hi Cheekie Chappies (and Chapesses of course),

Ummm, they were some nice noodles, now for some chocolate fingers methinks :)). Work was rather chilly tonight, not as windy as I expected it to be.......but on the 2 real windy days we had last week, I seem to remember it being somewhat warmer than it was last night........brrrrr.

Im stuck on Jak3 *sob*, im about 50% through the game and im stuck on a shooting range........its was my 2nd biggest bugbear with Jak2..........and it backkkkkkkkkkk *double sob*. I haven't played POP: Warrior Within for a little while, but I don't think im stuck on it.

A few years ago (run and hide, here comes a story), a friend and I were looking at starting an MMORPG.......ya know, like Everquest, infact the one we were going to start playing is called Project Entropia. Whilst spending countless hours in the pub talking over ideas about the game, we were discussing a system of time to use, so that all members of the guild we were in could all quote the same time, regardless of time zone.........in the end we stumbled upon an internet time..........thingy, its called New Earth Time & is quite a nice solution to the problem. In the end we didn't start playing the game and the whole idea of using the New Earth Time was forgotten about.............the end!!

Ok, so that's not the end.................................Whilst I was on my search around the web for various systems of universal time........I stumbled upon, what I can only describe as a wonder of creation. Its something you can truly mock and not feel bad about it (I'll try to add some links to fully show the scope of this phenomenon). This phenomenon/Theory of Everything/Cult that I speak of is called Timecube (please click this link with caution, you are about to enter the mind of a madman), please take a few moments to familiarize yourself with the site.

The Timecube site is only escalated further out of control by The Great Debate, the Timecube resource which still isn't rant free, but does contain more detailed and ledgible accounts of this Timecube thingie. I get the impression that its other people who put together and even help make up new parts of this weak theory. For you to better see information about the explanation of the time cube and good arguments put up against it, please look at this guys Blog. The guy who runs this blog, only posted a link to the Timecube website for a laugh, yet people started using his comments section to start a debate..............I think the non believers won (that's us single cornered evil stupid people by the way).

My personal views (if they're not already clear by my tone) are that the Timecube is severely flawed. The inventor (yes its inventor, not discoverer) by the name of Gene Ray, self professed wisest person in the world, can ramble on about his theory, but not be able to prove any of it. When questioned about the facts behind his theory, he resorts to using the old politician trick of talking a load of confusing and distracting babble, ending it with the certainty that you'd use to finish an answer. Without trying to explain anything that Gene preaches (his words aren't worth repeating), he believes in 4 simultaneous days within a 24hr earth rotation, the explanation for this can be found on the Great Debate website which Ive linked to above. His Timecube system, whilst it cant be proven wrong, is somewhat unnecessary as we already have a functioning 24hr system going on, its been working longer than you or I have been alive..........I mean Jesus, its been going since before Jesus was born!!!! If Gene just kept his mindless nonsensical whimperings to just a new form of telling the time, then we could all jus pretend that he never existed and carry on with our lives.

But it didn't end there.................did it???? Oh no, he's turned his 4 corner theory into the explanation of life itself and the theory that governs everything. Well what about all I've been taught?? (you may ask), well never fear, Gene has this message for you;

YOU are the lowest form.

...............but it wont be long till next x-mas!!!! (hehe)

On x-mas eve my PS2 arrived promptly, I have nothing but huge thanks for the seller as he went way above my expectations to get the playstation to me for x-mas eve. I then went into town and bought Jak 3 and Prince of Persia: Warrior Within for the PS2.............which was handy cus I could play them when I got home.

Considering that I got home for about 02:00am, I decided to stay awake for the whole of x-mas eve, in order to try and switch back to days. It wouldnt have been too bad, but I had a phone call from a friend asking if I wanted to go for a drink at our local Pub / Pool Club...........I would have gone, but by 8pm, I just had to go to sleep........I was totally wasted.

Crimbo day was cool..........one of my 1st crimbo's in a long time where I wasnt hung over or even still drunk from the night before. Was up early for "the opening of the presents", well was actually up at 03:30ish am due to the early night, so I played a little on Dark Age of Camelot until it was time to ceremoniously fill the bin-bag with wrapping paper. To be honest, it was a pretty good year for me, with regards to presents received...........better than some before.

Due to my better physical and mental state (from not gettin plastered the night before), crimbo dinner was much much nicer..........very enjoyable infact............could eat it again right now (tho that maybe cus im about to have a meal). The 2 best presents I received were the game Half Life 2 and Ricky Gervais's Politics on DVD (its standup comedy)., both from my girlfriend.

Boxing day, was in many ways alot better than crimbo day, I went to my local pub with alot of my close friends, for some beers and good chat........was all in all, an excellent night!!!!

New years eve was also pretty good.......I went round a friends house & we played with an eye toy all night and now my arms are knackered!!!!!!!! But the night was good, the company was good and im told my snoring was loud.........hehehehe.......its the stuff of legend!!!!!!

Back to work shortly unfortunately, though today is a 17:00 till 21:00 shift, instead of the usual 21:30 till 02:30. So im working "not quite nights" :).

It came to crunch time earlier. I had to weigh up whether I was either going to take a walk into town and see if anyone had a ps2 in stock........or I could take my chances with using e-bay. My concearn with ebay is that you always have to put alot of trust in the seller and each purchase can be a very different experience.

I tried calling Game and nobody answered the phone, at this time it was 09:30, one auction was ending at 10:00 & the other I was looking at was a buy it now..............but I needed to make some quick decisions. I decided to opt for the "Buy It Now" option, due to the seller saying that he could make delivery on X-Mas eve,, using next day delivery, if the item was paid for before the 23rd. I had a lil sinking feeling as I read this, but I jus started accepting the fact that I wouldnt receive the item until after X-Mas. But I found out when I woke up that the seller has called during the day & has sent the item through UPS, Im without words (except for the ones in this blog), my X-Mas spirit has had some restoration :))).

Defending the main keep Caer Erasleigh in RvR. Hibernia has taken the tower in the distance and is attacking the main keep from there (you can see the catapults they have pointed at us). They outnumbered us by quite alot and we didnt really stand much of a chance.......which made it all the more fun :))

Ahh, it was a good weekend..........a weekend full of keeptaking in DAoC, a weekend of rest & (more importantly) a weekend of not being at work :))

It seems that Christmas has crept upon me a little quickly, but im as ready as ever for it. I know for a fact that at least 2 of my Crimbo presents are PC games............so nobody is gonna see me this Crimbo :))).

I shall have to wrap up real warm tonight as it feels a little colder than it has been recently, even tho the cold recently all feels the same to me...........cold!!!!!

Just 4 days of work to go and then the sweet bliss of days off :)).

Another Chilly Night!!

Well, it was blummin cold at work last night. The general temperature was pretty bearable, but the wind was on the freezing side. But, like any other night, I got through it and im sittin here in the warm typin this up :)).

I still have the remains of this cold but it seems like my body has got the better of it now. Though, whenever I say something like that on here, it gets worse again..........the germs must be reading the blog!!!!!

Im still heavily playing DAoC, still making money with my level 50 Necromancer and buying better items for him. Its funny, because when I was gettin my new graphics card, my main complaint was that all I could play was DAoC. Now I have it, all I do play is DAoC.

Im still searching for the new DVD player.........like right this very minute :)

On 12/12/04, I and a fellow guild member in DAoC worked on our Epic Quests together. The Epic Quest works much the same as any other quest in an RPG stylie game.......go there, kill this, speak to someone, give item to someone. Only the Epic Quest is purpose built for the class of your character and runs from level 20 through to 50. Because Mordsythe (shown above) and I were both working on the same epic and we were both grouped, we both receive the same quest items and objectives. The only part that I lost out on was the level 50 part of the Quest, I was level 49 & though I was able to assist him in the quest, only he could benefit from completing that section of the quest. The item received for completing the last stretch of the Quest was the robe that Mordsythe is wearing, we were standing in one of the border keeps that lead to the frontier zones. He has told me that he will help me when I acheive level 50 on my main character, but he will only now be available from the 24th of December onwards.......but I have since now acheived level 50 so I might have to grab some other people to give me a hand.

Im trying to chose a DVD player, but im not entirely too sure what to buy........Sony, Phillips, Panasonic or even possibly Toshiba. Im probably gonna get one on Christmas Eve.......all things going well.

Ive checked reviews and prices......mainly on Amazon and Im not any the wiser really.

Having said that.......if I get to the shop and they've got any PS2's in stock then I may jus have to invest in one (I do have one but its a lil broken at the moment). I shall have to just wait till the day and see what happens.

My cold appears to be disappearing :), just one more night at work.......then 2 blissful nights of R&R, just me and DAoC, or maybe Doom3 or maybe Thief.......well whatever, it should be good.

I do have offers to take a trip down the pub, but with no money it may be a little difficult, tho in recent times this hasn't been much of a problem as friends have helped me out. I must admit....it doesn't make me feel that good when I have to ask my friends to buy drinks for me.......but its good to get out and have a few drinks with them. With working nights, its sometimes difficult to socialize and do things with my friends as im usually waking up in the afternoon & they make plans to do things during the day. But its not too much of a problem as I enjoy chillin at my PC during the weekend :)

This is all I have to say for now........might be some more at the weekend or when I get home from work later.

Me and Games PT.1

Ive played a few games on varying systems......but now im mainly playing an MMORPG......in Feb I'll be playing two and few other games, I'll give them a mention at the end.

A while ago I was playing an online RPG called Legend of Mir whilst this game was enjoyable, I now see it as more of a stepping stone onto other (I wont say better) games. After near on 2 years in Mir....I decided that a change was required and opted to play a more three dimensional game. In comes Dark Age of Camelot which, when brought down to its very basics is very similar to Mir in many ways. However, above these basics they are very different games indeed, the main difference is just how much more there is in DAoC. From the straight forward killing creatures for experience points (this is the primary route to bettering you character in many RPG's) to doing quests which take you through the story of the world your character inhabits, to crafting items, to the realm v ream combat there are many things that can be accomplished.

To touch a little more on the Realm v Ream combat, the game is split into 3 realms, Albion (my realm, based on Ye Olde England), Hibernia (an island west of Albion covered with forests) and Midgard (at the foot of the mountains of Scandinavia). On the standard servers, these realms are separate, they cannot commune with the other realms, and the teachings of each realm show how they are blood enemies of each other. The only time the realms ever meet each other is on the battlefields where there are Keeps to defend.

I have been playing DAoC for about 2 years now and am finally about to have one of my chars reach level 50 (the highest experience gained level), once I have attained this, I will then pursue the Master Levels (an addition that came in with the games last expansion, called Trials of Atlantis.

I shall be starting World of Warcraft in February when its released in Europe, though I will continue to play DAoC.

I am also currently playing Theif: Deadly Shadows & Doom 3, for a while I was unable to due to my graphics card deciding to stop working on me :((((, I went from an ATI 9800 SE (overclocked to a 9800) to a GForce 4 MX 440......the change was very noticeable and the only game I was able to play for a while was DAoC due to it being expansion based, it was able to downgrade its graphics engine for the card. I have now (rather pleasingly) bought an ATI X800 Pro and im back in action, better than ever :)))).

Theif is sneaky..........Doom is jus plain scary........both are damn good fun :)))

I plan to elaborate a lil more on my experiences in gaming........but right now I cant be bothered.

Ive decided......with all of this Blogging malarkey............im going to setup my Digital Camera......which will be fun :)

Might as well have a few pictures to better explain my mindless...........mindlessness.

Ive just decided to set this Blog up......because......well..........erm........cus I can :)

An ex-guild leader of mine from an online game I used to play has setup a journal on his website/forum and Ive become hooked with sharing my life with anyone who decides to read it.

Not too much to say for the moment.
